Science Film Festival 2010, Bangkok, Thailand
16th - 30th November
The Science Film Festival, initiated by the Goethe-Institut in 2005, enjoys a unique position: It presents films, which communicate technological and scientific issues accessibly and entertainingly to a broad audience. Through this approach, the festival encourages a culture of science films that effectively combines education and entertainment, demonstrating that science communication and learning can be fun.
In addition, the festival offers a platform for intercultural exchange through which different approaches to the world of knowledge converge. This mandate was further emphasised this year with the regionalisation of the event. Since the films are intended to reach in particular pupils and students, all films are synchronized into the local languages to provide greater accessibility.
The Science Film Festival 2010 is organized by the Goethe-Institut and the French Embassy in each county, as well as UNESCO. Furthermore, organizers and core partners in the different countries are science education establishments, ministries, universities, as well as leading German enterprises that act as generous supporters.
